DeMERCHANT, VAUGHAN - Vaughan DeMerchant of Perth-Andover, age 54, passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on February 15, 2004. Born in Perth-Andover, he was the son of the late Harold and Beatrice (Goodine) DeMerchant. He leaves behind his wife Eunice DeMerchant (Butler); his children Angela (Gerald) Pelkey of Fredericton, Tim (Kenda) DeMerchant of Perth-Andover; his grandchildren Joshua and Lauren "Muffin" Pelkey, Cole and Tory "Baby Girls" DeMerchant; his sister Norma (Harry) Evans of Presque Isle, Maine; brothers Harold Jr. (Ellen) of Arthurette, Rev. Bennie (Theresa) of Brazil, Robert of Kintore; and several nieces and nephews. Vaughan was a founding member of the Perth-Andover Rotary Club, served on the Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital board, served on Perth-Andover Village Council, and was a member of the Perth-Andover Fire Department for many years, just to name a few groups he was part of. Resting at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church with visitation on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 17, 2004 at 2 pm from the church. Rev. H. M. Lewis officiating, assisted by Rev. Bennie DeMerchant and Rev. D. T. Ferrel. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a toy donation to the Christmas Cheer Fund would be appreciated by the family. Toys can be brought to the church during the visiting hours.
