CURTIS, GUSSIE ANNE The death of Gussie Anne Curtis of Douglas, wife of the late Lyman Curtis, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, February 27. Daughter of the late Amos and Margaret (Wilkins) Stickles, Gussie was a devoted housewife and an affiliated member of the Douglas Baptist Church. Gussie was survived by daughters, Margaret Robichaud (Fidele) of Aldersyde, AB, Ellen Carruthers (Edward) of Royal Road, Florence Curtis of Douglas, Francis Curtis of Douglas, and Mary LeBlanc (Gerald) of Fredericton; sons Fred Curtis (Carol) of Fredericton, James Curtis (Reta) of Fredericton, David Curtis (Christine) of Douglas, Garfield Curtis (Bonnie) of Fredericton, and Eldon Curtis (Mary) of Douglas; 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, 5 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren; sisters Violet Holland (Howard) of Fredericton, Laura Davidson (Howard) of Woodland, Inez Crockett (Joe) of Douglas; brother James Stickles of Fredericton. Besides her husband and parents, Gussie was predeceased by sisters Evelyn, Viola and Myrtle; brothers Garfield and Earl; and grandson Larry Robichaud. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for family only, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Douglas Baptist Church, Douglas NB on Monday at 2 PM. Rev. Jerry Horseman will officiate. Interment will take place at the Dayton Cemetery at a later date.
