WILDS, Reverend Dr. Richard M - Passed away at St. Josephâs Hospital on September 28, 2004 at the age of 73. He was born August 3, 1931 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his brother Marlow and first wife, Joan. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Wilds of Brooklyn, daughters: Susan (Robert) Howe, Sarah (Walter) Disbrow; a son: Daniel (Tommi) Wilds, all of Jackson area; stepson: Cody (Julie) Miller of Ohio; brother: Lowell of South Carolina. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and one great grandson. Dick, as he was known by, served in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence in Germany, Photogrammetrist for MI State Highway Dept. and was a graduate of Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. He was ordained in the Episcopal Church at St. Paulâs Cathedral in Detroit in 1967. He served many small churches in Michigan, with 25 years as Priest of All Saints Church in Brooklyn until his retirement in 1993. After his retirement, Dick continued to serve the Lord by substituting and assisting in many churches until his death. He received his Doctorate of Ministry from Drew University in 1986. Reverend Wilds was a family psycho-therapist through the church and taught psychotherapy in Graduate Studies at Siena Heights University in Adrian and Jackson Community College. A diminutive man, whose heart was generous and who was passionate in his service to the Lord, will be lovingly missed by his family and the many lives he touched. Visitation at All Saints Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, MI on Friday, October 1, 2004 from 5-8 P.M. A celebration of his life will be on Saturday at the church where Reverend Dr. Wilds will lie in state beginning at 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Joe Sommers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Michigan Heart Association or to the Mission in Nicaragua.
