H. Victoria Cain 1915 - 2004 Victoria passed away at her residence on March 3, 2004. She was born on February 4, 1915 to George and Jessie Howard in Branford, Ontario. While living on Arlington Drive and Bessborough Avenue she was a member of St. James Anglican Church and while living on Bromley Avenue she was a member of St. Philip's Anglican Church. Victoria was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Claude Cain, a brother Norman, sister Marion and infant sister Eva. She was the youngest in her family. Victoria is survived by a son Martin (Ruth Hoddinott) of Calgary, daughter Vickie (Sam Girvan) of Moncton, six grandchildren, Bruce and Christopher of Calgary, Kimberley of Florida, Philip, working overseas, Elizabeth of Toronto and Matthew of Moncton, five great grandchildren, her brother-in-law and a nephew in Florida and one niece in Michigan. Victoria was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother. In her middle years with children grown she enrolled at the Community College, graduated as a hair stylist and opened her own business - a very successful venture which brought her much pleasure. She enjoyed traveling and took many car trips to various destinations in the USA, Mexico, two trips to Europe and finally, traveled with her daughter-in-law and son for a three month vacation in Spain in 1990. She was a good singer and was a member of various church choirs. Victoria was a Brownie leader and a Sunday School teacher. After retirement and the passing of Claude, her husband of fifty years, she volunteered at the Caring Kitchen and St. John's Church and worked as a caregiver to seniors in their own homes for several years. We extend our thanks to Dr. J. Stewart who gave her excellent and compassionate care. We also extend our deepest gratitude to Susan Dixson and her staff at Mt. Royal Eldercare who so willingly and compassionately made the last years of Victoria's life joyful. They surrounded her with friendship and love and we are unable to thank all of them enough for what they have given. At Victoria's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on March 22, 2004 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Cadman's Funeral Home, 114 Alma Street, Moncton.
