VINK, PEGGY "LEONA M." The death of Peggy Vink of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Tuesday, March 16th, 2004 at The Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Badger NFLD, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Rideout and wife of John Q. Vink. Peggy was well known for her musical talent, participating in community events like First Night (New Years Eve), volunteering her music at nursing homes, hospitals, Fredericton Legion Branch #4 and for church events at the Monsignor Boyd Center. Survived by her husband John, of Fredericton, NB; four sons, Glenn Cook (Amanda O'Sullivan) of Rothesay, NB, Eugene Cook of Corner Brook, NFLD, David Cook of St. John's, NFLD and Robert Cook of Etrecht, Holland; one daughter, Brenda Proffitt (Harry) of Leonardtown, Maryland (USA); thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Ena Butt (Alec) of Halifax, NS and Joan Cluney of Grand Falls NFLD and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Bruce and Eugene. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18th, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 19th, 2004 at 12:00 noon from St. Dunstan's Catholic Church. Monsignor Brian Sheehan as celebrant. The interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Right for Life of Fredericton or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
