WHITE, NOAH CHARLES, Jr. - Noah Charles White, Jr., 47, of Red Wing died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Red Wing Health Center. He was born October 29, 1956 in Winnebago, Nebraska to Noah, Sr. and Blanche (Johnson) White. He graduated in 1976 from Red Wing Central High School. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served a full time mission from 1977 to 1979 in Halifax Nova Scotia. In April 1980 he married Judy Molasky. They returned to Red Wing where he worked for the Red Wing Correctional Facility for 13 years as a counselor; also serving on the Diversity Committee. He was the Garning Commissioner and Executive Director of Prairie Island Indian Community, served on the Tribal Council in 1997 until 2000 and then elected again this past December. He was elected as the first Native American on the Red Wing School Board in 2000. For 10 years he was a foster parent for Native Americans, volunteered on Boy Scouts organizations, was a member of the Red Wing bowling league and Prairie Island Indian Education Committee, Johnson O'Malley Program, where he served as president. Survivors include his wife, Judy; four children, Phillip, Noah III, Caleb and Heidi White all of Red Wing; one granddaughter, Hannah White; his mother, Blanche White of Welch; brothers, Albert White and Dave (Posie Johnson) White, Sr. both of Welch, Paul (Vera) Dressen of Red Wing, Ron (Dolly) Speak Thunder of Montana, Pat (Mary) Badhand of Rosebud, South Dakota, Jim (Bonnie) Clairmont of St. Paul, Danny (Patsy) Seaboy of Sisseton, South Dakota, Jeff Burr of Hager City and Johnny (Jerrie) Johnson of Red Wing, Larry (Sandra) Hirschi of Salt Lake City, Utah, Gary (Bev) Hirschi of Chubbuck, Idaho, Hal (Debbie) of Pocatello, Idaho and Tarry (Cindy) Hirschi of American Falls, Idaho; sisters, Nora (Marvin) Starr, Sandee White, and Vivian (Joe) Mireau all of Welch, Debra White and Pam Wilkens, both of Stockholm, Wis. and Janet (Ron) Wright of Salt Lake City, Utah; foster parents, Keith and Velma Hirschi of Pocatello, Idaho and many nieces and nephews. Funeral was Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the Prairie Island Community Center with Erik Gram officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Island Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ron Gallo, Randy Kosnophsal, David White, Jr., Craig Dugstad, Don Whitebear and Arthur White. Honorary pallbearers were Broderick Dressen, Joe Holland, Ron Speak Thunder, Scott Johnson, Christopher and Justin Dow, Edward Buck, Brad Funmaker, Henry Bigfire, Pat Badhand and Erick Pehle.
