FENNELL, JAMES E. - The death of James E. Fennell of 77 Topeka St. occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, March 26, 2004. Mr. Fennell was born in Saint John, a son of the late Charles F. and Mary Ellen (McCrossin) Fennell. Jim had served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. He had been employed as a welder with T. McAvity's for over 35 years and was keenly interested in harness-racing. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, the former Marion C. Quinn in 1971; his second wife, the former Phyllis B. McLean in 1997; one son, Robert E. Fennell; two brothers, LeBaron Fennell, and Bro. Basil Mahar (Presentation Brothers); and three sisters, Martina Fennell, Pauline Keyes, and Constance Bourque. He is survived by three sons, James A. (Linda), Terrence B. (Karen), and William C. (Linda), all of Saint John; two sisters, Mrs. Rita Hunter of Saint John, and Mrs. Josephine Arrowsmith of Pointe Clare, Quebec; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Monday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
