M. FERNAND GALARNEAU 1936-2004 THUNDER BAY - Est décédé à la suite de maladie, le 23 avril 2004, à l’âge de 67 ans, M. Fernand Galarneau, domicilié à Thunder Bay, époux de Monique Cyr (fils de feu Arthur Galarneau et feu Marie-Louise Veillette). Le défunt laisse dans le deuil, outre son épouse : Monique, ses deux fils : Sylvain (Cindy Eaton), Gaétan (Stéphanie Hodges), 1 petite-fille : Jessica Galarneau, Alexandra et Corey Eaton, ses frères et soeurs : Jean-Baptiste, Prospère (Noëlla), Bernadette (feu Gilbert Tremblay), Marguerite (feu Daniel Gagnon), Ange-Aimé, Gérard (Sylvie), Jean-Guy, Jérôme (Gisèle), ainsi que ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs, ses cousins (es), neveux et nièces, autres parents et amis. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Résidence Funéraire de L’Abitibi-Témiscamingue de La Sarre Membre de la Fédération des coopératives funéraires du Québec L’inhumation des cendres se fera au Québec ultérieurement. La famille invite les gens qui le désirent, à faire un don à la Société canadienne du cancer et/ou à la Fondation des maladies du coeur.Mr. Fernand Galarneau, age 67 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away after a lengthy illness, at his home, on Friday April 23, 2004 with his family by his side.Born on October 11th, 1936 in Ste-Jeanne-D’Arc de Clerval, Fernand had worked for Abitibi-Woodlands Division, employee # 257, since 1954. He will be remembered as a dependable, hard worker that was very innovative and was known as a “jack of all trades”. Fernand had the “gift of gab” and was always joking with his family and friends. Willing to help anybody in a time of need, he had a smile for everyone. Fernand was most proud of his grandchildren and they were the apple of his eye. His family and friends were most important to him. Fernand will be sadly missed by his loving wife Monique; two sons Sylvain (Cyndy Eaton) and Gaetan (Stephanie Hodges); one granddaughter Jessica Galarneau; Alexandra and Corey Eaton; six brothers and two sisters. Numerous family members and friends also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Marie-Louise Galarneau. As per Fernand’s wishes, cremation has taken place and final interment of the Ashes will be at a later date, in Quebec. Arrangements entrusted to Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Fernand’s memory to Northern Cancer Research or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
