DEFALCO, Gerald M.G. Director, Asia and Pacific MDS Nordion 1953 - 2004 A loving father, husband, brother, and uncle, Gerry died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Discovery Bay, Lantau Island, Hong Kong on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004. Gerry (Jerry) viewed life as an adventure and lived it to the fullest. He loved life, his work and above all, adored his wife, Dr. Sandra Comer, and his beloved twin sons, Connor and Dylan Defalco, age 9 who were born in Hong Kong. Born in Churchill, Manitoba on February 5, 1953, son of the late Stephen Defalco and the late Aline Defalco (Sauriol), Gerry lived most of his life in Ottawa. After high school, he worked as an electrician, and co-founded Octopus Bookstore. He later returned to university to earn his electrical engineering degree from Carleton University. A devoted 22-year employee of MDS Nordion, Gerry was Director, Asia and Pacific office for the past 10 years. A very special son-in-law to Muriel Comer (Mimi) and the late Eric Comer of Ottawa. Dear brother-in-law to Susan Clarke (Steve). Greatly loved brother of Susan (Martin Donovan) of Montreal; Steven (Lucie Bedard) of Ottawa; Connie (Raymond Blanchette); Thomas (Cynthia McDonald) of Ottawa; Jane (Tim Ayres) of Los Angeles, CA; Nancy (Dr. Brian Bailey) of Cantley, PQ; Timothy (Darlene Gagnon), and Mary (Rob Lalonde) both of Orleans; and Matthew (Joanne Raymond) of Guelph. Cherished by Barbara Defalco (Laidley) and Jeffrey Friend Defalco (Niki Rhyndress) of Brockville. Fondly remembered by a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore & Baseline) on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow.
