Titre de la conférence :
Silent Presence: The French in New England
Résumé de la conférence :
Colonists, who grew up under the same political systems in the land of their birth, and left France around the same time, inhabited two different areas of La Nouvelle France: Canada and Acadie. Their lives developed in two vastly different directions once they came to America. The hardships the French faced when they became British citizens in Canada and then ventured south to settle in New England will be examined. This is the story of a peoples’ struggle to reclaim pride, a story of forgiveness and hope; a story that has not been told in this way.
