WWII, Royal Regiment of Canada Military Cross Jan. 10, 1913 - 30-01-2002 With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Maurice George Berry at the Kingston General Hospital in his ninetieth year. Beloved husband of sixty-five years of Isobel Morrill and devoted father of Peter (Marie de Bellefeuille), Sandra (deceased), John (Deborah Collins), Elizabeth (Max Kirby). Cherished grandfather of Heidi, Allan (Sylvia), Bertrand, Benjamin Jr. (Bettina), David (Jennifer), Christopher, Jessica, Julian and Sebastian, Patrick and Joseph, and great-grandfather of Ailsa and Anna Heckscher. Predeceased by brother Jack. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Marion Morrill and Doris Berry and son-in-law Benjamin Heckscher Sr. Maurice had a forty-nine year career with the Bank of Montreal, retiring as Manager of the Guy & Sherbrooke St. Branch in 1976. He served his country proudly in World War II and was awarded the Military Cross for bravery at the Battle of Scheldt. After retirement he moved to Georgeville, Quebec, where he combined a love of history and the Eastern Townships. He served the Stanstead Historical Society as President from 1983 - 1985. Maurice planted thousands of trees in his beloved Georgeville and his family will honour his memory with a mighty oak. Private family arrangements.
