Born in 1945 in Cape Town, South Africa. Died peacefully on February 4, 2002 after a valiant and courageous battle with an aggressive cancer. She will be sadly missed by her husband and soulmate Ronald. Before her illness last Fall she was employed by the law firm Gowling, Lafleur & Henderson as a Legal Assistant. The members of this firm provided Isabel with an enormous amount of support, kindness and compassion. Thanks goes to the doctors who attended to her as well as nurses who tended to her needs, especially those at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital, whose care and compassion were beyond the call of duty and service. A very special thank you to Dr. N. Matuk, Isabel's friend and doctor of many years whose care and compassion and love gave Isabel an immeasurable amount of encouragement, peace and comfort. Friends may visit the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Thursday, February 7, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, February 8 at 2 p.m. which will be followed by private cremation.
