Peacefully at his residence in Stittsville on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Ella Pye Quart. Dear father of Susan Seitz, Michael, Marny Hamilton and Reginald Jr. Poppy as he was fondly called will be missed by his grandchildren Christopher, Jennifer and Shannon Seitz, Matthew and Christine Quart, Julia, Graeme and Kirk Hamilton and Spencer and Marny Quart. Reg was the son of the late Honorable Senator Josie Dianan Quart and Harry S. Quart of Quebec City. He was predeceased by his brothers Gerard, Harry, Jack and his sister Jo Ouellet. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Babs Quart and Joy Quart and many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate from the School of Engineering at McGill University in 1942. Following graduation, he served as radar officer with the RN - on loan from the RCNVR serving his country in World War II. While residing in Montreal, Reg was a longtime member of the Royal Montreal Golf Club and Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club. As a resident of Naples, Florida, Reg was a member of The Naples Yacht Club and the Royal Poinciana Golf Club. Throughout his life, he was active in volunteer services in his community, including the Federation of Catholic Charities and his church. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.) on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 15 Steeple Hill Cres., Nepean, on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Red Cross Society would be gratefully appreciated.
