Suddenly but peacefully in hospital at Arnprior on Thursday morning, February 7, 2002. Irene Isabella Hoolihan of The Royal Scot, Arnprior at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Maxwell Hoolihan and of the late Emanuel Whalen. Dearly loved mother of Patricia Sloan (John Dunn) of Florida. Predeceased by her only son, Paul Whalen (March 4, 1999). Dear mother-in-law of Debbie Whalen of Ohio. Loved stepmother of Katie Darrow, Sherry Cascaddan (Carl) and Michael Hoolihan, all of Michigan. Cherished grandmother of Paul, Todd (Susan), Sean and Sarah Sloan, Amy Sartor (Brian), Heather Whalen, Darby Darrow (Mary), Jeff Cascaddan and Angie Colyer (Brad) and great-grandmother of Alexiss Sartor, Paul Bolduc, Dylan, Elizabeth and Kaitlyn Darrow, Desiree and Hannah Colyer. Predeceased by a granddaughter, Cindy Darrow. Dear sister of Loretta Brennan (late Joe) of Ottawa, Theresa McHale (late Tom) of Fitzroy Harbour, Sr. Margaret Smith of North Bay, Maureen Reid (late Stan) of Arnprior, Gertrude "Gertie" Murphy (Pat) of Kanata and Agnes Smith of Arnprior. Predeceased by a sister, Nora Walsh and brothers, James, Lawrence, Francis, Eddy and Gervase Smith. Irene will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their families. Friends may call at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Isidore's Church, South March on Monday morning, February 11th at 11 o'clock. Interment Parish Cemetery.
