Suddenly at home in Sarnia, Ontario on Friday, February 15, 2002 at the age of fifty-six. Owen was the son of the late Eileen White and the late Bernard J. McGowan. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Lynne Duchastel and his loving children, Patrick, James (Kristina), Elizabeth and Caitlin. He also leaves behind in loving memory his sister Mary Lorraine (Allan) Balazo and their three sons Terrance, Michael and Patrick. Arrangements were entrusted to McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Sarnia. Interment took place at Lakeview Cemetery on Tuesday, February 19, 2002 in Sarnia. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a scholarship that has been founded in memory of Owen at Lambton College, where Owen taught for twenty-five years. Slan go foill.
