It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Miriam (nee Arrington) Block on February 17 at Chateau Westmount. After ninety-five and a half years of a very full life, her presence will be sorely missed by her daughter, Victoria, her son-in-law, David Astrof, her brother, Robert Arrington, niece, nephews and many friends. David and Victoria thank the staff at Chateau Westmount, her caregiver Karen Lapointe and especially Alma White whose wonderful care (and cooking) made Miriam's last years so good. Miriam's love for life was contagious. She inspired us all with her various creative pursuits: poetry, art, music, cooking - and by her undying love for her husband of forty-six years, Victor Richard Block who passed away in 1991. Both Victor and Miriam enjoyed the companionship of a wide circle of friends. In her memory, contributions may be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation. The Montreal Gazette, 18-02-2002
