Veteran, W.W.II Clarence Joseph McCambley passed away at the Rideau Veterans' Health Centre on Saturday, February 23, 2002. He was born January 26, 1915. He was the beloved husband of the late Lola O'Rourke and dear chosen father of Ann Brideau Gervais. Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Thomas McCambley and Eva McCaffrey. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters, Nellie Henry (the late Austin), Annie Lowell (the late Ernie) and Gertie Plunkett (the late Gerald) and by his brother Tom McCambley (Margaret). Predeceased by his brother Bill (the late Muriel) and his sister Rita Cunningham (the late Mark). Memories of uncle Clarence will always be cherished by his many nieces and nephews and by his goddaughters, Eva Henry Desmoreaux and Anne Lowell. Anne Brideau Gervais' children, Rejean (Patricia) and Lisa (Mario Berard) will always have special memories of Clarence as will her grandchildren, Amanada, Shane, Brittany, Tammie and Paul. Clarence served Canada proudly during some of the worst battles of World War II. Many thanks to his nephew Michael McCambley for all the care and personal attention. Thanks also to the attentive staff at Gatineau I, Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 585 Somerset Street (centretown) Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Wednesday to St. Camillus Church, Farrelton, Quebec for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment parish cemetery. A Memorial Mass and reception in Venosta will be announced in the spring. Donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre appreciated. Rest in Peace. The Ottawa Citizen, 25-02-2002
