(Retired, after 33 years, Pembroke Ambulance/Pembroke General Hospital). Peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on Friday, March 1, 2002, surrounded by his family. Joseph Gombocz, beloved husband of Freida (nee Anderson) Gombocz. Dear father of Joanne Andrews (Irvin) of Orleans, Kim Jarvis (Kim) of Orleans and Kelly Ziegel (Brian) of Pembroke. Loving papa of Tyler and Brandon Andrews, Jenna Jarvis and Paul, Amy and Sarah Ziegel. Life-long best friend of Charlie Szombathelyi and his wife Myrna. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rose Gombocz, brother Pal and sister Jolan all of Hungary. Uncle Joe will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. A Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Sunday afternoon March 3 at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Atkinson of Wesley United Church officiating. Interment in the spring in Wesley United Cemetery, Pembroke.
