Peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital on Monday, March 4, 2002 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Andrew James Wood. Loving mother of James Wood (Margaret) of Ottawa, Barbara Dawson (Dale) of Vankleek Hill, On and Carolyn Ciepiela (Robert) of Richardson, Texas. Cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Irene Walker of Ottawa, Winnifred Kersey of Oshawa, Mary Wilkinson of Montreal and Olive Walker of Winnipeg. Predeceased by her sister Gladys Gill and brothers Earle and Frank Walker. Born October 1, 1905 Eileen lived and worked in Montreal until she and her husband, Andrew James Wood, moved to Lachute, Quebec. She has been a resident of Ottawa since 1982. She had been active at St. Martin's Anglican Church until her hospitalization in 1990. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Thursday, March 7, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2002 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Vincent Hospital care of SCO Health Service Foundation, 43 Bruyere Street, Ottawa, On.
