(B.Sc. Carleton University, Ph.D. Harvard University (Mathematics), enthusiastic professor at York University, Dept of Mathematics and Statistics for 32 years), passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2002, after a valiant struggle with cancer. It's remarkable that he complained so little. Richard was the best friend and loving husband of Julia and the imaginative, inspiring and ever patient father of Daniel, Amanda and Emily. Richard was a devoted son of mother Vivian and (late) father Laurence. He shared his great love of life with his brothers Dennis and Andrew. We shall miss him. Friends may gather at Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St., Toronto (2 lights south of Steeles Ave.) on Saturday, March 16, 2002, for a half hour prior to a Memorial Service in the chapel at 3 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
