Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday March 17, 2002, at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital, in her 55th year. Beloved wife of Daryl Merkley. Cherished mother of Bonnie (Mark Thompson), Lisa Baker (John Stewart) and Ed Gallant (Melody Cote). Dear stepmother of Dennis Merkley (Nicole), and Michael Merkley (Debbie). Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Adam, Matthew, Justin and Tabitha Thompson, Aaron and Damon Baker, and Edward Gallant. Dear daughter of Eva Mae Fawcett and the late Gladstone McGillivray. Will be sadly missed by many neighbours, friends and relatives inside and outside of the community of Chesterville. Friends may pay their respects at the Chesterville Funeral Home, 62 Queen Street, Chesterville, on Tuesday March 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The service will take place in the chapel of the Chesterville Funeral Home on Wednesday March 20th at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bert de Bruijn officiating. A private interment will follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Chesterville. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
