On Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at the age of 16. Ali passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. Ali fought a courageous battle with cancer for over three years and although the cancer won in the end, she lived her life with tremendous zest, enthusiasm and optimism. Ali was the oldest daughter of Pedro and Cathy (Walker) Narbaitz, dear sister to Thomas and Patricia. She will be remembered by her grandparents Gladys and the late John Walker and Mary and the late Dr. Roberto Narbaitz and her many aunts and uncles, Joni (Bill), Scott (Gwen), the late Grant, Craig (Paula), Rae-Ellen, Roberto (Lucy) and Marianna (Mike) and by all her cousins Michael, Kelsey, Jeffrey, Emily, Jenna, Kristen, Hayden, Taylor, Jordan, Dylan, David, Peter, Bruce, Alexander, Benjamin and Robert. She will be deeply missed by her friends and classmates at St. Matthew High School and the Candlelighters Teen Group. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Thursday, March 21, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Annunciation of the Lord Roman Catholic Church, 2414 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Friday, March 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Trust, 307C Richmond Road, Suite 210, Ottawa, ON, would be appreciated by the family. A special thanks to all her guardian angels, Dr. Jackie Halton, Dr. Louise Coulombe, Marilyn Cassidy, Lynne Limoges, the Brendas, Jocelyn Lamont, her teacher Amanda Brown and staff at CHEO.
