Capt. C.D., RCN (Retired) Peacefully at Central Park Lodge on Thursday, March 21, 2002 in his 86th year. Jack Dewis, beloved husband for 60 years of Jean. Loving father of Barry (Joan) of Ottawa, Fred (Yvette) of Calgary and Gail O'Connell (Terry) of Mississauga. Cherished grandfather of Gordon, Stephen (Theresa), Patrick, Allison, Kathryn, Grace and great-grandfather of Zachary. Brother of Marty Dewis of Calgary and predeceased by brother Fred. Special friend to Jonathan and Dana Strong. Jack joined the RCNVR in 1940 and transferred to the RCN after the war. He served for many years as Deputy Judge Advocate General. Upon retirement from the navy, he served as assistant Chief Electoral Officer of Canada. For many years, he was a dedicated Cub and Scout Master at Parkdale United Church. Special thanks to the staff of Central Park Lodge and Dr. Jodie Rumstein for their loving care and support. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd. at Roosevelt on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Parkdale United Church, 429 Parkdale Ave. on Monday at 11 a.m. Cremation.
