C.D. Captain (Retired), Royal Canadian Corps of Signals, 1934 - 1967 Passed away peacefully at Almonte Country Haven on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Violet (nee Nesby). Loving father of Gordon (Kathie) of Port Colborne, Susan (Ron Vermander) of Ottawa, Janet (John Younghusband) of Carleton Place and Laura (Alan Vittery) of Vancouver. Cherished grandfather of Rob and Mark Burwash and Leslie Eglitis; Karin and Eric Vermander; Gord, Doug and Scott Younghusband; Alanna and Alistair Vittery; great-grandfather of Scott Gomez Younghusband. Also survived by his sister, Mary Edwards of Ottawa and sister-in-law Barbara Burwash of Toronto. Predeceased by his brothers, Randolph, Stanley and sister, Winifred Ogilvie. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, at Aviation Parkway, on Monday, April 1st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at St. Alban the Martyr Anglican Church, 454 King Edward Avenue (at Daly), Ottawa at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to St. Alban's Church or Almonte Country Haven, 333 Country Street, Almonte, would be appreciated by the family.
