Suddenly on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 in her 86th year. Menetta MacFadyen, dearly loved wife of William Jolliffe. Predeceased by her first husband C. Bruce Brown. Much loved mother of Ella May (nee Brown) Vanlaningham (Glenn) of Rochester, Minn.; Collingwood Bruce Brown (Shirley) of Studio City, Cal.; Hannah Margaret (nee Brown) Mitchell of Minneapolis, Minn. and Robert William Jolliffe (Sandra) of Halifax, N.S. Loving grandmother of Leslie Jolliffe; Susan Deuchars; Dawn Kate Vanlaningham; Heidi Niziolek (Dan); Katrina Mitchell; Woody Brown; Meaghan Brown; Ruth Wallis; Rachel Edwards and predeceased by Dale Vanlaningham. Also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. Devoted daughter of the late Lauchlin Francis MacFadyen and the late Hannah Alsop (Butler) MacFadyen. Menetta was born in Baileyville, Maine, grew up in Trois-Rivieres, Que. and spent most of her married life in Montreal. She and her husband moved to Stittsville in 1980. She was active in the Victoria Order of Nurses Auxiliary in Sainte Anne-de-Bellevue and later at the Amberwood Golf Club, Stittsville. She was beautiful and talented, particularly in needlework. A service of remembrance will be held at the Amberwood Recreation Centre Building on Saturday, March 30, 2002. The Ottawa Citizen, 28-03-2002
