In hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2002, Verna Thurrott (Vankoughnett) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Deeply missed and loved by her best friend, and devoted husband Keith, their children, daughter Colleen (Thurrott-Mills) and son-in-law Tom, son Terry and daughter-in-law Cheryl. Much loved and precious Nan to Geoffrey, Gregory, Jillian, Grant, Christopher, and Corey. Also survived by dear sister Louise (George Rose) and her twin brother Vernar (Marion) and many other family members. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth (Timmerman) Vankoughnett, and sisters, Maude Barrett, Stella Kellar, Beatrice Grimard, Lorraine Ashley, and brothers, Orris, Clarence, Cecil, and Hubert. Her laughter will be missed by her many, many dear friends. The strength of her love will continue to bind us all together. We are truly blessed. She was a proud member of Club 55, and a sister of the Rebekah Lodge in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul's United Church, Richmond on Saturday, April 13th at 1 p.m. with a reception following at the Richmond Legion.
