Late of Regina and formerly of Ottawa passed away quietly on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Katherine Bergman; brothers Henry, Louis, William and Joseph Bergman; sisters Annie Ament, Katherine Yeske, Frances Bergman and Wilhelmine Morin. Elsa was born in Langenburg, SK. She taught school until 1942 when she joined the Federal Civil Service in Ottawa. She worked for the federal government - payroll division until her retirement in the mid-sixties. During her life she traveled the world extensively, knit hundreds of baby sets for the church bazaars, loved all sports, and did crossword puzzles by the hour. She lived her life with dignity, caring always for her fellow man. Elsie is survived by her sister-in-law, Josephine Bergman of Langenburg; "Aunt Elsie" will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Joan (Jim) Kortje, Susan (Arnold) Shives, Marie (Al) Wright, Marilyn (Pat) Hodgkinson, Mariwyn (Harry) Carter, Delores (Al) Lipoth and Evelyn Stewart; nephews, Jim (Delores) Ament; Roy (Maureen), Don (Judy) and Murray (Janice) Yeske, Bill (June), Dick (Birtie) and Berny (Ligaya) Bergman; Ken, Clifford (Bev) and Dennis (Debbie) Bergman and Jim Morin plus many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. PRAYERS will be held for Aunt Elsie, Friday, April 19, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK. A FUNERAL MASS will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Langenburg, SK. Interment to follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home.
