Harry Alvin Homewood age 62 passed away on Saturday May 4, 2002 at the Ottawa General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. His loving spouse Claudette Handy and mother Eleanor Homewood were at his side. Harry, the beloved son of Eleanor and the late William H. Homewood of Ardbeg, Ontario is survived by daughter Lori Dunn (Chris) of Scarborough, son William H. Homewood (Donna) of Elmvale, stepchildren Steven Gilberg (Donna) of Ottawa, Carla Johnson (Ken) of Whitby, Ontario, Jonathan Gilberg (Margaret) of Oakville, Ontario and Mark Gilberg (Katherine) of Vancouver, B.C. Loved brother of Kenneth of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Sylvia Yates of McKellar, Ontario, Gerald (Sonia) of Elmvale and Beverley Church (Bill) of Dunchurch, Ontario. Harry will also be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren and his many nephews and nieces. Mr. Homewood is resting at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 235 Kent Street, Ottawa. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 7 at 2 p.m. Cremation followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery at a later date.
