Passed away peacefully, with her family at her bedside, and surrounded by many friends and colleagues at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Francis Merkel. Loving mother of Brad Merkel (Debbie) of Ottawa and Lynn Belsey (Mark) of Ottawa. Dear sister of Robert Irving (Yvonne) of Oakville. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie, on Saturday, May 11th from 2:00 p.m.until the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Donations to her memory may be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Oncology Department.
