Jean Helen Berns died on Monday, May 13, 2002 of breast cancer. Beauty and peace in equal measure were in her face. Many of those she loved were with her, loving her and holding her hands. She was 66 and she did not live long enough but she lived the life she wanted to, in the way she wanted to live it, and she was fulfilled. Her husband Marc, her mother Esther, her friends and cousins, her children and their partners and their children in turn are intensely grateful for the gift to them that was her life. The incalculable pain of her loss is a small price to pay. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at 45 Chelford Road, Don Mills, Toronto.
