(June 2, 1919 - May 15, 2002) (of ALMONTE) (Served in World War II, RCASC) Peacefully in hospital, Almonte, Ontario on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at age 82. Wilmer Laforest beloved husband and best friend of Florida Deschenes. Dear father of Anne (Guy) op-de-Beeck; Claude; Pauline (Douglas) Hewitt-White; Peter (Kim); Denise Laforest Younger; Gisele (James) White and John (Caren). Dear brother of Annie Theriault and Hilda Flavien both of Grand Falls, N.B. Also survived by 12 grandchildren Jason, Matthew, Ariane, Caitlin, Graeme, Dominic, Tyson, Melanie, Daniel, Jonathan, Jordan and Harrison and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 6 brothers all in World War II Wilfred, John, Adrian, Larry, Ernest, Lionel and by 1 sister Arthemise Picard and brother Adolph. Friends may call at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Wednesday, May 22nd from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral to Holy Name of Mary Church, Almonte for Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday,May 23rd at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Name of Mary Parish Cemetery, Almonte. No flowers please, donations made to Holy Name of Mary Memorial Fund or The Almonte General Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the Laforest family.
