B.Sc., Physical Ed. (Springfield) M.Ed. Admin. (McGill) Veteran WW II - Royal Canadian Legion Branch #462 Passed away after a lengthy illness on May 16, 2002 at the age of 85. J.J. leaves behind his loving wife, Yvonne, his step-children, Jacques Paul Brown (Kristine Gore), Kathleen Harding (Bruce) and granddaughter Cynthia. He also leaves behind his sister Helen (Theresa) Sim, brother Fred (deceased), relatives and friends. J.J. was born in St. Catherines, Ontario on June 14, 1916 to Alice Theresa and Charles W. Sim. He joined the PSBGM in 1948, becoming director of Phys. Ed at Mount Royal High School. In 1960, J.J. was appointed Principal of Dalkeith School, where he served for 10 years and retired following a two-year service at Algonquin School. Jim was then associated with the Basketball Secretariat of COJO at the 1976 Olympics. After retiring in 1975, J.J. made his home in St. Sauveur, Quebec and Daytona Beach, Florida. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. (13h00) at the Chapel of the Perley Rideau Veteran's Health Centre at 1750 Russell, Ottawa. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at Perley Rideau Health Centre. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The Ottawa Citizen, 22-05-2002
