December 6, 1921 - May 17, 2002 At the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre, Friday, with his wife and youngest daughter beside him. Survived by his wife Thelma Robin Gartke (nee Hawksley-Hill), daughters Stephanie Robin Gartke-Richard (Moncton, New Brunswick), Tara Margaret Gartke (Doha Qatar) and Kathleen Anne Gartke (Ottawa) and five grandchildren. The family wishes to express appreciation for the warm and considerate care given by the palliative care team at the Elisabeth Bruyere. Cremation will be followed by a service and interment at the National Military Cemetery (Beechwood) at a later date. The Ottawa Citizen, 18-05-2002
