Odey Desmond YOUNG

(Veteran of WWII, Cameron Highlanders) In hospital, Perth, on Wednesday, May 22, 2002, Odey D. Young, following a long struggle with emphysema and heart failure at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband for 57 years to Margaret "Peggy" (Bartholomew) Young. Loved father of Jennifer (Bob) Demerath of Carleton Place, Pamela (Rodger) Reed of Perth, Deborah (John) Dickson of Kemptville; cherished grandfather of Christine Dodd of Kingston, Beth Aube of Carleton Place, Scott and Craig Dickson of Kemptville and great-grandfather of Andrew and Melissa Dodd and Chelsea Aube. Dear brother of Bob Young, Iris Cox and Lois (Bill) Coutts. Odey was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Gladys Young, brothers Donald, Maynard, George, Jimmie, Gladwyn, Boyd and sister Annie. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by family, friends and many nieces and nephews. Odey loved a game of golf and bridge; his sense of humour will be missed by his family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. until service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
