Saturday, May 25, 2002. After 82 years spent debating, fighting for freedom, reading for the love of reading and loving his family in the only way he knew how, Bert Colbourne drifted off to his eternal home. He leaves behind his loving wife Gert, his daughters Colleen (Ralph), Joan (John), Betty (Dave) and Karen (Jon), and his grandchildren Mark, Jessica (Reg), Erin, Jamie, Daniel, Megan, Brian and Noah. God bless the wonderful and caring staff at the Perley Rideau, on Gatineau 1 North who took such good care of our dear husband, father and grandfather. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd. (Orleans) Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Fund appreciated.
