(P.Eng) Retired Executive Director, CRTC Died at home, June 2, 2002, at age 70. Born in Budapest, came to Canada in 1957. A professional engineer, enjoyed a long distinguished career in telecommunications. Respected by many, he had a brilliant mind and a keen wit. Beloved husband of 12 years to Maria (Esther). Predeceased by first wife Julianna. Cherished by sister Maria Medgyesi of Hungary and children Thomas (JoeAnne Lappan), Julie (Randy Marquardt) and Phaedra (David McKay). Proud and dear grandfather to Michael, Ava, Victor, Kennedy, Alexander, Marina and Jackson. Pal to Iggy and Zoe. Will be sadly missed by family, friends, and mentees around the world. Private family service is planned. Arrangements in care of the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue. Friends are invited to celebrate Guido's life at a Memorial Service at a later date. Donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society, greatly appreciated.
