Peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2002 at the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. Winnifred May Mitchell (nee Leadbeater). Loving wife and dearest companion of James F. Mitchell. Born in Toronto 1920, May wed in 1942, and after the end of WWII followed her husband throughout his RCAF career, living in Ottawa, Edmonton, Paris, Toronto, Rockcliffe, Winnipeg, Kingston, Colorado Springs and finally returned to Ottawa to enjoy a well-earned retirement. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and acquaintances, as well as her immediate family. Cherished mother of Glenn (Marie) of Edmonton and Wayne (Elisabeth) and Susan (Rorry) Harding of Ottawa. Beloved grandmother of Carrie and Colin Mitchell of Edmonton; Marianne and Jennifer Mitchell of Ottawa and Kyle and Dana Harding of Ottawa. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank) Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday in the Chapel at 1 p.m. In remembrance, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
