age 65, of 43 Underwood Street, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2002 at home after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late David and Dorothy (Martin) Neima. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the C.W.L. She was a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society in Dartmouth and Pictou East and was a member of the Women Alike competitive team, "women alike abreast a river". She is survived by husband Cdr. (ret.) R. Brent Steele; daughter: Linda Steele-Mercier (Michel), Ottawa, Ont; sons: Raymond (Della), Oakville, Ont., LCdr. Jeffrey (Vicki), Ottawa, Ont., Steven (Laura), Dartmouth, N.S.; sisters: Dorothy Barron, Oshawa, Ont., Annette Gonzalez, Tampa, Fla., Karen Sutherland, New Glasgow, N.S.; brother: Oren J., Winnipeg, Man.; grandchildren: Brittany Steele, Emily and Julia Steele, Colten and Courtney Steele, Steven Mercier. She was predeceased by brothers Ron David and Robert in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the RH Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday from Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Bernard MacAdam officiating. Burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
