Sister Joan Former General Superior of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, was called home to her Loving God at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, Kingston on Thursday, June 13, 2002. Joan, who is predeceased by her mother Rita (McIntee) will be dearly missed by her father, Edward Whittingham and by her brothers Ward (Linda) of Montreal and Ted (Marjorie) of Ottawa. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Karen, Donna, Erin, Christopher, Timothy and Michael as well as by members of her religious congregation and her many other friends. Visitation will be held at Providence Motherhouse, 1200 Princess Street, Monday, June 17th from 2:00 p.m. The Vigil Service will be that evening at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel of Mary Mother of Compassion, Providence Motherhouse on Tuesday, June 18th at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
