Peacefully, at St. Vincent Hospital, Ottawa, June 15, 2002. Husband of Dorothy, his Guardian Angel. Dear father of Christopher and his daughter-in-law, Katrina. Cherished grandchildren Olivia and Alex. Sadly remembered by his sister, Anne Maier, Vancouver, B.C. and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister and six brothers. He was a retiree of Foreign Affairs, being on postings to Rome, Italy; Karachi, Pakistan; New York and Lagos, Nigeria and other extensive travel. Mr. Pochopsky received the Merit Award for an exceptional and distinguished contribution to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Public Service. At the request of the deceased, there was no visitation. A Memorial Service was held at St. Hedwigs Catholic Church in Barry's Bay, Ontario, followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
