Sister Mary of the Nativity (Sister Edna Bissonnette) Sister Mary of the Nativity, a Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, died in Pembroke, Ontario, on the 18th of June in the 72nd year of her religious life. Sister is mourned by the members of her religious congregation, her sister-in-law, Yvonne Bissonnette and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonidas and Zephirine (Pitre). Sister served in ministry as a nurse in Sault Ste. Marie, Pembroke, and Ottawa in Ontario; Lestock and Esterhazy in Saskatchewan; and Vancouver in British Columbia. During her very active retirement she was involved in numerous civic activities and had a particular interest in prison ministry. She spent the final years of her life in Shalom Residence, the sister's infirmary in Pembroke. Resting at the Grey Sisters' Motherhouse, 700 Mackay Street, Pembroke from 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th. Liturgy of the Resurrection in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21st. Friends and Associates are invited to Vespers in the Motherhouse Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th. Members of the Catholic Women's League, Cathedral Parish, will meet for prayers at the Motherhouse on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Interment at St. Columba's Cemetery.
