(Genoe) Passed away peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2002 at Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre in Ottawa. Chris was born, July 24, 1951 in Toronto to Jim and Irene Genoe. She was raised in North York, attending Newtonbrook Secondary School, moving to Sudbury, where she graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Science in Language from the School of Translation and Interpretation. Chris worked in a number of positions in her life, including a Teaching Assistant for Environmental Physics courses at Laurentian University, contract computer programming in Ottawa, coordinator of Childbirth Education, and a Parliamentary Assistant to an MP. She also did volunteer work with Rogers Community Television, Voiceprint, Centrepointe House and in the schools attended by son Nick. Her most challenging position was managing Peter, her husband of 28 years and their son Nick, age 16. She now continues on to her next challenge before the rest of us. Chris will be missed by her mother, Irene Genoe, sister and brother-in-law Sue and Dick Sneyd, nephews Troy, Jeff and Mike, and brothers-in-law Bill and Frank Van Rijn and families. Christine will be sorely missed by the many close friends she made in her life. Thanks go out to the caregivers and support team at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, the oncology ward at the Ottawa General Hospital and Elisabeth Bruyere. Also to our friends in the Brain Tumour Support Group and Centrepointe House. An informal drop-in celebration of Christine's life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2002. Come anytime between 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Centrepointe House, 380 Centrepointe Drive, Nepean (behind Bethany Baptist Church, Centrepointe at Baseline).
