Adeline HIMMELMAN

In Ottawa, on July 11, 2002, Adeline Himmelman Chisholm, of Springville, N.S., and Ottawa, in her 104th year. Wife of the late Dr. Hugh D. Chisholm of Springville. Mother of Mary Maclaren and her husband Kenneth of Ottawa, and of Margaret Spindler and her husband Harry of Dartmouth. Grandmother of Gordon Maclaren of Osaka, Janet Maclaren and her husband Steve Dent of Toronto, Wendy Maclaren of Halifax, and Alec Maclaren of Ottawa. Great-grandmother of James, Andrew, Alexandra and Margot Dent. Sister of Frances Hansford (Ernest), and of Helen Hansford, both of New Glasgow. Predeceased by her parents Newton and Jessie (Fraser) Himmelman, her brother James Himmelman, and sisters Grace Fraser, Margaret McMullen and Annie Condon. She was the oldest graduate of the School of Nursing of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She continued to work as a nurse during the years of her marriage. She then spent many years as a hospital administrator in Nova Scotia, and in medical administration and nursing in Ottawa.
