Gladys Lorraine DOUGLAS

(nee Douglas) Died July 18, 2002 at the age of 91 at her residence in Orleans, with close family members by her side. Born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan on November 26, 1910, she was predeceased in 1972 by her husband Patrick Michael Pender (Sergeant, RCMP). She was the daughter of homesteading pioneers and worked as a teacher in rural Saskatchewan before moving to Ottawa in 1941 to work for the navy during the war. She left the public service to raise her family but later returned, retiring in 1975. She is survived by her five children, Doug (Donna) of Victoria, British Columbia; Brian; Joan Beaton (Ken); Ted (Teresa); and Earl (Kim) all of Ottawa. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and by her youngest brother Earl in Gull Lake. Donations to a favourite charity. The Ottawa Citizen, 23-07-2002
