WW II Veteran; Retired Major, Armed Forces Suddenly at home on July 18, 2002, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Irene Garforth. Dear father of Shelley Jane (Bill Netherton), Danny, Tim, Dorothy (Pinkus) and John. Loving stepfather of Maureen, Suzann, Anne and Paul. Predeceased by his first wife, Shelley Woodbury and brothers David and Delbert. Survived by sisters Dorothy and Inez and brother Lawrence as well as many nieces and nephews. Grandfather of Christopher (Wendy), Matthew and Simon (Leigh) Netherton and Andrew and Rebecca Pinkus and step-grandfather of seven. Great-grandfather of Benjamin Netherton. Funeral was held in Coboconk, Ontario on July 22, 2002. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated. The Ottawa Citizen, 25-07-2002
