(1916 - 2002) Margaret Welcher, nee Lennie, beloved widow of the late Russell Welcher passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Tuesday July 23, 2002. Margaret had suffered from three heart attacks in the past short time. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughter Heather Umelas (Mait) of Ottawa and by their daughters Tina Schlecker (Ryan) and Kari Shannon (Dennis) both of Vancouver, B.C., her son James Welcher (Fleurette) and their children Lucie and Patric all of Montreal, sister-in-law Betty Welcher of Calgary, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Kathryn McFarland for her extraordinary care and support during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held on Friday July 26, 2002 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary the Virgin Chapel, 2750 Navan Road. Burial will take place on Monday July 29th at 2 p.m. at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal, QC. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
