Joan Roberta PETERSON

(nee Peterson) OCDSB - Retired Joan lost the battle on July 24, 2002 after valiantly fighting against cancer. Her lifetime achievements included - daughter, sister, teacher, skier, wife, mother, photographer, coach (x-ski, ball), volunteer (QWH, Orleans, Museum of Nature), artist, musician (flute, Gloucester, Rockland), ESL teacher, sailor (captain, RYC, CYBC), author (Prentice Hall, Oxford Press), grandmother, neighbour and friend. Following the cremation, an informal get-together for family and friends will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 29, 2002 at the Queenswood Heights Community Centre (Duford Drive). For those with religious beliefs a prayer at your place of worship would be welcome. A donation to the Cancer Society would be appreciated. Special thanks for all the support received while Joan was sick, the efforts of Lynne (QWH), Ginny (ORCC and OGH) and Estelle (VON) were especially appreciated. The Ottawa Citizen, 27-07-2002
