D. Marie WARNER

At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. on Wednesday July 31, 2002. She was the daughter of the late William Leo and Kathleen (nee Costigan) Warner. Born in Saint John, N.B. she attended St. Vincent's School for Girls and worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia before her marriage to the Honorable Gerard V. La Forest, C.C., Q.C. (former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada) on December 27, 1952. She is survived by her beloved husband and daughters Marie (Rem Westland), Kathleen (Peter Hammond), Anne (Heather Hobart), Elizabeth (Denis Chaine), and Sarah. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kees, Gerrit and Amy, Robin, Miriam (Marie); Katie, Billy, Emily Marie, John (Kathleen); and Daniel (Elizabeth). we are forever grateful to her for her strength and courage, and for her guidance, wisdom and love. She leaves one brother, Clifford G. warner, three sisters, Lenore, Eileen (Mrs. Bliss Cole) and Dorothy (Mrs. Pierre Vachon), all of Saint John, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Father Donald J. Warner, John E. Warner, Q.C., Cpl. William H. Warner, RCMP, and Dr. H. Alfred Warner and one sister Margaret T. (Mrs. Christopher Brown). Resting at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, N.B. with visitation on Thursday, August 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, N.B. on Friday, August 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Saint John, N.B., with Monsignors Henneberry and Sheehan as celebrants. The honorary pallbearers will be the Right Honorable Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of Canada, the Honorable Charles J.A. Hughes, O.C., Q.C., the Honorable Gordon Fairweather, O.C., Q.C., Mrs. Clifford G. Warner, Mrs. Robert S. Flynn, Dr. Colin B. MacKay, O.C., Q.C. and Mr. Neil McKelvey O.C., Q.C. A reception at the Union Club on Canterbury Street will follow the mass. Interment will take place in Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
