Sergeant Derek, CD Central Band of the Canadian Forces In Ocean Park, Maine, vacationing at the beach he loved, Derek Kenneth Rogers in his 48th year, died suddenly on Wednesday July 31, 2002. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all the people his life touched. Beloved husband of Faith (nee Batty). Loving son of Ruth (nee Ashton) and the late Kenneth Rogers. Dear brother of Lorna Simard (Brian). Devoted uncle to Bernadette and Richard Simard. Son-in-law of Hilton and Joyce Batty; brother-in-law of Paul and Ruth Donaghy and uncle of Mark, Andrew and Jo Donaghy. Friends may call at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Salvation Army Citadel, 1350 Walkley Road.
