McCARTHY, Mary Elisabeth Laurentia «Laura» (née Vanasse) 27 janvier 1921 - 31 juillet 2002 est décédée paisiblement à sa résidence le mercredi 31 juillet 2002. Chère mère de Richard (Susan) et Michael (Rhona); grand-mère chérie d'Adam, Ryan et Christopher McCarthy; épouse de feu Michael Shirley McCarthy. Elle sera regrettée par plusieurs nièces, neveux, grandes-nièces et neveux, et spécialement par son amie d'enfance et belle-soeur Carmen Charron et par ses nièces Bea et Rose. Elle fut prédécédée par ses frères: Felix, Elzear, Ernest et Gerry et par ses soeurs: Rose et Lucienne. Lui survivent ses frères: Stanley, Leo et Anthony et par ses soeurs: Emily, Edna, Grace et Lillian. Laura grandit à Low, Québec, puis vécut à Hull, Gatineau, Aylmer et finalement, à Ottawa. La famille accueillera parents et amis pour une célébration de la vie de Laura à la Chapel McGarry Memorial, Wakefield, Québec, le 17 août 2002 à 13h. La famille recevra les condoléances à l'église à partir de 12h15. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Carkinus Co-Op, 141 Twyford, Ottawa, Ontario, K1V 0W4, seraient appréciés. Ces dons seront utilisés, afin de poursuivre le ``Perennial Shrubs'', ce qui embellira davantage le Jardin commémoratif et les terres de la COOP. L'inhumation sera privée. Will be missed by her many beloved nieces and nephews, greatnieces and nephews, and especially by her childhood friend and sister-in-law Carmen Charron and nieces Bea and Gisele. Predeceased by her brothers Felix, Elzear, Ernest and Gerry and her sisters Rose and Lucienne. Survived by brothers Stanley, Leo and Anthony and by her sisters Emily, Edna, Grace and Lillian. Laura grew up in Low, Quebec, then lived in Hull, Gatineau, Aylmer and finally Ottawa. The family will be greeting friends and family for a Celebration of Laura's life at the McGarry Memorial Chapel, Wakefield, Quebec on August 17, 2002 at 1 p.m. The family will receive condolences after 12:15 p.m. Donations to the Cardinus Co-Op at 141 Twyford, Ottawa, Ontario. Donations will be used to purchase perennial shrubs which will enhance the memorial garden and grounds of the COOP. Interment will be private.
